DisCover #11

I loveLoveLOVE book covers as much as I love the books themselves..you guys might know that already..so I decided to make a new feature (called DisCover..geddit?!) where I'll be highlighting 3-4 books covers every week! Then, you can ooh and aah as much as you like in the comments box!

Fury by Elizabeth Miles

In book one of the Fury trilogy, Emily Winters and Chase Singer discover that a little guilt isn’t the only consequence of doing wrong. After Emily hooks up with her best friend’s boyfriend and Chase’s secret harassment of a social outcast spirals out of control, three mysterious Furies—paranormal creatures that often assume the form of beautiful female cousins—come to town to make sure that Emily and Chase get what they deserve. Not everyone will survive—and those who do will discover there are worse punishments than death. But when Emily befriends outcast Drea and learns more about who and what the Furies really are, she becomes resolved above all to take them down and stop their plans. Little does Emily know, by confronting the Furies, she could become inextricably bound to them for life.

JUST ZOMG. This reminds me a lot of Unearthly..in red. Loved that.

Still Waters by Emma Carlson Berne

Hannah and Colin seem to have the perfect relationship, but as her second-to-last year of school draws to a close and Colin prepares to head off to college, Hannah feels he might be slipping away. She knows they need some real quality time alone if she’s going to hold on to him. So when she finds pictures of his old family lake house, she secretly schemes to get him there. But when they arrive, he’s not thrilled. Actually, he’s totally freaked out. And though she gets him to relax, his behavior become stranger by the day: he disappears for long stretches of the night, has a bizarre breakdown in a nearby diner, and when the car stops running, he seems completely unconcerned about fixing it. The lake house holds secrets, and what Hannah doesn’t know and Colin can’t
remember just might kill them both.

I really liked the cover blue. And I really like this cover. (That doesn't say much..but you get the picture, right?!)

What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen

Another town. Another school. Another Mclean. Ever since her parents' bitter divorce, Mclean and her father have been fleeing their unhappy past. And Mclean's become a pro at reinventing herself with each move. But in Lakeview, Mclean finds herself putting down roots and making friends—in part, thanks to Dave, the most real person Mclean's ever met. Dave just may be falling in love with her, but can he see the person she really is? Does Mclean herself know?

I LOVE SARAH DESSEN. LOVE in CAPITAL LETTERS. And I am SO FREAKIN' EXCITED FOR THIS IT'S UNBELIEVABLE. WHAT I WOULD DO TO GET MY HANDS ON AN ARC OF THIS.
Anyway, I'm not sure if this is the finished cover, but it's still some pretty damn cute stuff. Puffin have the awesomest covers for the UK editions of Dessen's novels. I'm not too big on the US ones. I saw this aaaaaaaages ago, but for some reason still haven't posted on this blog. Well, here it is now. You love it, right?

One thing though, I'm not sure about the fact that the designers have changed the background colour to white..it's nice, but all the others are black..unless they're changing them all. Anybody know anything?

What do you think?

  1. I love the cover of Along For The Ride too! It's GORGEOUS, as are all of Sarah Dessens book covers. In answer to your question, I think a few of her books are coming out with the white backgrounds in new editions, I saw Lock And Key and That Summer in a bookshop.

But are they bringing it out in white only? Because I've got all the black ones and it wouldn't match :((
