DisCover #4

I loveLoveLOVE book covers as much as I love the books guys might know that I decided to make a new feature (called DisCover..geddit?!) where I'll be highlighting 3-4 books covers every week! Then, you can ooh and aah as much as you like in the comments box!

Father of Lies by Ann Turner

This novel is about the nature of evil, set in a depressing time. It is in Salem, Massachusetts, when the witchcraft cases took place. The girl Lidda is bi-polar, which can become symptomatic at puberty. So she can have hallucinations. There may be a demon possessing her. When she observes the other Salem girls, she believes they are lying.

Witchcraft hey? Exciting stuff.

I like this. The angle of the photograph is really effective; it's like when you're just happen to be out with your camera and you take a sneaky quick-before-she-runs-away picture of your friend who is extremely camera-shy. Her face has a really weird expression on it which first drew me in. Lovely green eyes too. I like the font as well, it's a pretty colour and I like how on of the curly lines goes off the bottom of the page..

The Geek Girl's Guide to Cheerleading by Charity Tahmaser and Darcy Vance

When Bethany — self-proclaimed geek girl — makes the varsity cheerleading squad, she realizes that there's one thing worse than blending in with the lockers: getting noticed. She always felt comfortable as part of the nerd herd, but being a member of the most scrutinized group in her school is weighing her down like a ton of textbooks. Even her Varsity Cheerleading Guide can't answer the really tough questions, like: How do you maintain some semblance of dignity while wearing an insanely short skirt? What do you do when the head cheerleader spills her beer on you at your first in-crowd party? And how do you know if your crush likes you for your mind...or your pom-poms?

One thing's for sure: It's going to take more than brains for this girl genius to cheer her way to the top of the pyramid.

This is the cutest cover ever!! Every inch of it just screams CUTENESS, PEP AND FUN! There's also the cheerleading part of it which is bound to be awesome! I don't know exactly what it is, but there's something about these American novels that make me just want to eat them because they look like they're fall of so much GOODNESS. Call me mad.

Demon Kissed by H.M. Ward

DEMON KISSED is a young adult paranormal-romance novel, by American author H.M. Ward. It tells the story of Ivy Taylor, a seventeen year old girl, who is claimed by both the martyr marked (people chosen to protect humanity from evil), and the demon kissed (soulless servants of hell).

While learning to survive in this new reality, Ivy discovers that she is at the center of a prophecy that foretold of her unleashing unprecedented evil into the world. Ivy relies on her friends, and finds herself in a forbidden romance, while trying to save the world.

The image on this cover look like one of those really arty photographs that belongs in a really high-class art gallery, very pretty. I'm not sure about the font though; I don't like that it's italicised (sp?) should be a little bigger as well maybe..

Has anybody else noticed that she has a weird pink thing above her right eyebrow? If you click on the image it might be a bit clearer.

What do you think?
