Waiting on Wednesday #12

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine

Warped by Maurissa Guibord, January 11th 2011 (US Release), Delacorte Press (US pub.)
A love story that crosses centuries...and hangs by a thread.

"By warp and weft I bind thee..."

Tessa Brody doesn't believe in magic. Or Fate. But all that changes the day she discovers a dusty unicorn tapestry in a box of old books The wild, handsome creature woven within it draws Tessa, and frightens her too. When she pulls a silver thread from the tapestry, Tessa accidentally releases a terrible secret-one that has been contained for centuries. She also meets William de Chaucy, a young sixteenth-century nobleman with gorgeous eyes, an odd accent and haughty attitude to spare. His fate is as inextricably tied to the tapestry as Tessa's own. Together with Will, Tessa must overcome a crafty, ancient enemy. That is, if she can get along with "his lordship" long enough. And do it before her whole life unravels.

To be really honest, I chose this because the the girl's (Tessa, I'm assuming) face looks like one of the beauty shots from Britain's Next Top Model. Really, it does?! Sorry, I'm still on a high from the live final yesterday, did you watch it?!! Oops. Really like the design around the side as well, it really makes her face stand out more and look really bold.

And, because we are mean to be sticking with the Angel theme...

Fallen Angel by Heather Terrell, December 28th 2010 (US Release), Harperteen (US pub.)
The first book in a dark, edgy new angel series about a girl who finds herself forced to choose sides in the battle between fallen angels, even if that means going against the boy she loves.

When Ellie Faneuil first sees Michael Chase she feels an instantaneous connection. But she does not realize how much they have in common, including the ability fly and to see what others are thinking - not to mention a taste for blood. Revelling in their new powers and their growing feelings for each other, Ellie and Michael are determined to uncover what they are, and how they got this way ... together.
But the truth has repercussions neither could have imagined. Soon they find themselves center stage in an ancient conflict between fallen angels that threatens to destroy everything they love. And it is no longer clear whether Ellie and Michael will choose the same side.

In this electrifying novel Heather Terrell spins a gripping tale of soul-mates, supernatural powers and a truth that will change Ellie and Michael‘s world forever.

LOVE the synopsis of this, it sounds like it will be a really amazing read! Yet another US release though :( Hope it will release her because I seriously can't afford imports! Also, I like that on the cover, the girl is looking some far away..makes you wonder about what she's looking at..her hot-sounding boyfriend, maybe?! Hah! She does have a sort of glint in her I reading too much into this?!

  1. I'm looking forward to both of these - especially Fallen Angel. I'm all about the angels right now! :)

  2. Love the cover for both books! Great WoW picks!

  3. Warped sounds ah-mazing! Fallen Angel is already on my TBR though :)
