The story of Scarlett and Rosie March, two highly-skilled sisters who have been hunting Fenris (werewolves) – who prey on teen girls – since Scarlett lost her eye years ago while defending Rosie in an attack. Scarlett lives to destroy the Fenris, and she and Rosie lure them in with red cloaks (a colour the wolves can't resist), though Rosie hunts more out of debt to her sister than drive.
But things seem to be changing. The wolves are getting stronger and harder to fight, and there has been a rash of news reports about countless teenage girls being brutally murdered in the city. Scarlett and Rosie soon discover the truth: wolves are banding together in search of a Potential Fenris – a man tainted by the pack but not yet fully changed. Desperate to find the Potential to use him as bait for a massive werewolf extermination, the sisters move to the city with Silas, a young woodsman and long time family friend who is deadly with an axe. Meanwhile, Rosie finds herself drawn to Silas and the bond they share not only drives the sisters apart, but could destroy all they've worked for.

Scarlett and Rosie March had their lives turned upside down, when, seven years ago, a Fenris who was disguised as a man selling oranges, came to their cottage and attacked. Now Oma March is dead, and Scarlett has a missing eye, the effect of saving her younger sister's life.

Eighteen years old, with the help of her partner-in-crime Silas (who, I SWEAR, knows EVERYTHING!), Scarlett has made it her duty to hunt down the evil wolves, known to devour innocent young girls, to kill, to fight, to finish them. It's her duty to keep Rosie safe. And the other girls, just like her younger sister; except they are weak and defenceless, their own naiveness unhelpful against the predator.

So when Silas comes back from his adventure in San Fransico and advises that they move to the city, they decide to go for it. The Fenris are looking for the Potential, a human who could be turned at that specific time, it's the perfect time to go a little 'hunting spree'.

Although Rosie is deadly with a knife, the overprotective Scarlett is reluctant to let her hunt by herself. And Rosie can't help but wonder what it would be like to not have to worry about the wolves, to be able to do normal teenager things, like go to school, take dance classes, and 'date'.Is it possible for her to hunt and do the things she has only dreamed of?

Sisters Red is loosely based on the traditional story of Little Red Riding Hood, a modern day retelling. When I picked up Sisters Red and read (and read and read and read and read...) the (whole) book, I found it was not what I was expecting, which was a sweet fairytale with the odd wolf twist, but instead, I found an action-packed story flaunting the awesome thing that is FEMALE AWESOMENESS with a totally dreamy dude who was FLAWLESS. Do you need anything else to want to read this book? Exactly.

My mind on Sisters Red? SilasSilasSilasSilasRosieSilasHowToughIsScarlett?SilasSilasLOVE.

*sighs*

After agreeing to the fact that the two sisters has dedicated to their lives to save hundreds of helpless girls from going through the same fate as the ones they couldn't save, I realised that even though it was their choice to hunt in the first place, they were sort of trapped in this whole other world that's full of violence and cruelty, and they have no ways for escaping, they just have to..live with it really.

I've read so many amazing reviews, and Sisters Red is such a promising book that it deserves every bit of hype it gets! A very creative approach to a well-know tradition tale. Basically, Sisters Red = TOTAL KICK-ASS STUFF.

Thanks to Hodder Children's for sending me this :) Fingers crossed that there is a sequel!
